WhatsApp, Facebook And Instagram Down For Many Users Worldwide

It was during this cataclysmic weekend day that Facebook, together with its adopted offsprings WhatsApp and Instagram, went down, not allowing people all over the world access for hours.

As the public becomes more cautious about privacy, Mr Zuckerberg foresees a change in the company's services, with growing numbers of people turning to closed communication such as private messaging, short-lasting stories that expire within 24 hours and small groups.

A Facebook spokesman did not elaborate about the cause, and only apologized for the "inconvenience".

"Earlier today, some people may have experienced trouble connecting to the family of apps".

This outage came nearly exactly a month after Facebook experienced its worst one ever lasting for over 24 hours due to a "server configuration change" according to the company. Dean Miller tweeted from NY.

"Confirmed: Analysis of global network data shows Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger down globally for an estimated 60 percent of users; incident ongoing #FacebookDown", cybersecurity firm NetBlock.org tweeted. Facebook began to experience issues at around 6.30pm, according to tracking website. "Supposedly Facebook, insta and WhatsApp are all down but couldn't care less about the other 2 just want my WhatsApp lol!" "In addition, the main Facebook.com domain is also seemingly unavailable", the report said.
