Temperatures on the up as Easter approaches

The Netherlands is in for a warm and sunny Easter weekend, with the temperatures rising up to 22 degrees in some places on Sunday, according to weather bureau KNMI.

7Weather- Dry and mild weather continues into Wednesday, and then we end the week with a few chances for rain.

On Good Friday, we should expect parts of the country to get as high as 20 degrees, while Easter Saturday will go one better (literally), as parts of Ireland are expected to reach 21 degrees.

In fact, it appears that the island of Ireland will be warmer than that of top Summer holiday destinations such as Barcelona, Lanzarote, Ibiza and Athens.

Comparatively, major holiday destinations in Europe are falling a little below expectations in terms of weather for the coming weekend.

A great evening is in store as we slowly cool from the 70s into the 60s after sunset.

Temperatures will start cooling Friday through the weekend.

Temperatures will take a slight dip on Easter Sunday.

On Saturday, temperatures will be in the mid-50s and will rise just above 60 degrees Sunday.

Steve Willington continued: "It now looks like more changeable and cooler weather will arrive from the northwest from Easter Sunday, however there remains the chance that southeastern parts of the country could remain warm and settled into Easter Monday".

Ibiza will offer temperatures of 17 degrees on Friday followed by 18 on Saturday and Sunday.

Note: all temperatures listed are in degrees Celsius.
