President Trump Tweets He's Awarding Tiger Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom

Trump himself awarded the Medal of Freedom to Babe Ruth, Alan Page, and Roger Staubach just past year, and Barack Obama awarded it to Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Willie Mays, among others, during his presidency. Check. A presidential medal of Freedom?

President Donald Trump announced Monday via Twitter he'll present the golf superstar with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. They've played golf together several times, including at least three outings since Trump's election in 2016.

The president later shared a photo of the group on social media, and a Trump Organisation official noted that Woods and Nicklaus have designed courses for the company.

Woods' victory was his first major title since winning the 2008 U.S. Open, and it came 22 years after his first career win at the Masters in 1997. He watched the Masters from his Virginia golf club on Sunday.

"Love people who are great under pressure". "What a fantastic life comeback for a really great guy!" In 2018, he gave medals to football players Roger Staubach and Alan Page and a posthumous award to baseball player Babe Ruth. However, a year ago Woods re-established himself as a competitive golfer following a back fusion surgery.

The Masters win on Sunday marked Woods' 15th major tournament title and put him one behind the all-time Masters leader, Nicklaus, who has six titles.
