Leicester have won their last three home Premier League games, as many as they had in their previous 12 at the King Power Stadium (W3 D2 L7).

Maguire has also been delighted with the impact made by Rodgers since the Northern Irishman took charge at the Club in February, with four wins from five propelling City to seventh in the Premier League. You can prepare however you want but it depends on the players to make the difference.

Harvey Barnes was a constant threat for Leicester and he surged past two defenders for a shot which Dubravka was equal to.

None of that was lost on the Newcastle fans who waxed lyrical about him on social media after the game, with many of them urging the club to sign the West Bromwich Albion loanee permanently, and to a very long contract.

Wilfred Ndidi and Youri Tielemans had long-range efforts after the break but the Foxes were struggling to create clear chances against a Newcastle defence sitting increasingly deep.

"We're scoring the first goal in a lot of games which is really important for ourselves and then we can kick on and go and get a second and third like we have done in the last game".

"We will learn from it; this is why I am here". The players have been first class since I came here but if you're not quite on it, a result like this can happen.

Set-piece specialist James Maddison wasted a free-kick from a good position in the 75th minute and Jamie Vardy fluffed his lines later still with a miss that summed up Leicester's lack of clinical edge.

"The speed of our passing in particular can be much better". It needs to come quicker.

It has been a long campaign for Newcastle. We changed it around a few times but it was one of those evenings.

They also looked the more threatening team every time they went forward, with Salomon Rondon the flawless target man as he allowed his teammates to work off him.

Brendan Rodgers hopes Leicester will learn from a disappointing display that saw them lose 1-0 to Newcastle on Friday Night Football.
