Jose Mourinho reacts to Zinedine Zidane’s return at Real Madrid

Asked whether he would like to coach France worldwide Mbappe at some point, Zidane said: "Like with all good players, I would love to".

Zinedine Zidane's second spell in charge of Real Madrid begins in earnest on Saturday, and the Frenchman has included both Isco and Marcelo in the first matchday squad of the new era.

"I'm not going to talk about Bale's season, what I'm going to talk about is what we have ahead: 11 games", Zidane said.

Zidane's return puts Bale's future in further doubt, given the pair's relationship became strained last season, before the Welshman said he was considering his future at the club.

But despite Zidane overseeing Madrid's successful era, it was another ex-head coach who was Perez's go-to guy, according to Calderon.

Real have endured a disappointing campaign this season, sitting third in La Liga and suffering a shock Champions League exit to Ajax, with Zidane becoming Los Blancos' third manager of the season following the dismissals of Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari. "I am counting on him like everyone else, we are ready and Gareth is ready".

"The first option was Mourinho, and Mourinho was the one who was going to come to Real Madrid because he's the only coach the president respects", said Calderon, as reported in Spanish media outlet AS.

"I'm going to count on Isco, as well as other players, the important thing is that I make each player feel very involved".

"You are always delighted to coach the best players", Zidane said. We've got 11 matches.

"I saw a good, happy Gareth Bale, even if there has been some problems on the pitch", Poyet told The Debate on Sky Sports. "We know the quality those two players have but what interests me is tomorrow's game, nothing more".
