Florida State lands transfer QB Alex Hornibrook

During the 2018 campaign he led the Badgers to an 8-5 record with 1,532 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

Florida State was thin at quarterback entering the 2019 season. Last month, Hornibrook announced he would transfer from Wisconsin after he graduates from business school in May. FSU now has three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster.

Alex Hornibrook #12 of the Wisconsin Badgers throws a pass during warmups prior to playing the Michigan Wolverines on October 13, 2018 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Hornibrook missed four games with a concussion, and threw nearly as many interceptions (11) as touchdowns (13). Last year's starter, Deondre Francois, was dismissed from the team last month. Notably for FSU fans, he was 23-of-34 for a career-high 258 yards and four touchdowns as the Orange Bowl MVP during Wisconsin's win over Miami at the end of the 2017 season. Blackman has tossed for 2,740 yards, 24 touchdowns and 12 picks over 15 games the last two years while completing 59.2% of his throws.

Based on his time in Tallahassee so far, Blackman presumably has the inside track to start over Hornibrook - but at least there's some competition now.

For the second straight year, with the caveat of top target Lance LeGendre committing to Maryland, Florida State head coach Willie Taggart did not get a quarterback on National Signing Day.
