Knicks issue statement after James Dolan was filmed banning a fan

Upset by the fan verbalizing the sentiments of many Knicks fans, Dolan had the man escorted from the arena and is apparently banning him from future games. Dolan said. "You want to not come to any more games?"

At some point, Dolan walked off the Madison Square Garden floor and was confronted with a message that he has to have heard hundreds of times by this point: sell the Knicks.

When the fan asked why, Dolan replied, "That's rude".

The video showed Dolan leaving his courtside seats while the unidentified fan yelled in his direction.

Knicks ready to deal away Frank Ntilikina?

Dolan may get the last laugh on this particular fan, but he'll be hard pressed to kick out close to 20,000 fans chanting "sell the team!" down the stretch of the season, something that's nearly sure to happen now.

We're told there were other fans heckling Dolan, but he singled out the guy who doesn't want him to be the owner anymore. "Enjoy watching them on TV".

Oakley was angered by Dolan's reaction after NY lost on Saturday and a fan yelled at the owner to "sell the team".

New York Knicks owner James Dolan made headlines over the weekend after threatening to ban a fan who told him to sell the team. The responsibility for maximizing profit should be on him, not subsidized by NY taxpayers.

That 2015 episode led to an effort by some fans to put up a billboard near MSG calling on Dolan to sell the team. The Knicks current record of 13-53 is the worst in all the National Basketball Association, and the team has not made the playoffs since the 2012-2013 season.

According to a Knicks spokesperson, the team is standing behind Dolan, as what the fan did was disrespectful, per Bleacher Report's Mike Chiari.
