Charlotte Russe to close all remaining stores

There are ten Charlotte Russe stores in the Tampa Bay area and five in the Orlando area. The last day to use gift cards is March 21, and all stores are expected to be closed by the end of April, the newspaper reported. Last month, Payless announced plans to close all of its 2,500 stores. Upstate New York stores that will close include locations at Destiny USA in Syracuse, Salmon Run in Watertown, Greece Ridge in Rochester, Oakdale in Johnson City, Crossgates in Albany, Arnot in Horseheads, and Walden Galleria in Buffalo.

Charlotte Russe has six stores in Louisiana. Among the other stores are Toys R Us, Barnes & Noble, Macy's and Sears.

The retailer, which according to a news release specializes in "affordable on-trend apparel" for young women, filed for Chapter 11 relief on February 3.

In West Michigan, Charlotte Russe has stores in the Woodland Mall, RiverTown Crossings Mall and The Lakes Mall. The plan to shut down was approved Wednesday by the bankruptcy court in Delaware.

The Greenbrier Mall location for Charlotte Russe declined to give the contact information for the company's media relations. The company planned to have an initial public offering that year to pay off much of that loan. Charlotte Russe's intellectual property and rights to its leases will be sold separately. It also owned 10 stores under the Peek brand, which sold children's apparel.
