Rich The Kid And Usher Robbed In Broad Daylight In Los Angeles

The statement did not name Usher or Rich the Kid, real name Dimitri Roger, but TMZ reports that police officers said Usher was inside the studio and unharmed, while representatives for Roger said he was "doing OK" in the wake of the attack.

The three suspects made off with cash and jewelry, and as they fled, one of the suspects reportedly opened fire and shot as many as ten shots behind him in the direction of the studio.

Police say at least one person - a bodyguard - was injured. He was outside the studio when it went down and multiple shots were fired. It is unclear whether anyone was seriously injured or suffered gunshot wounds from the incident.

L.A. County Sheriff's deputies are now on the scene, searching for suspects and collecting evidence.

Founded by American audio engineer Tom Hidley in the early 1970s, Westlake Recording Studios has hosted the production of numerous hit albums, including Michael Jackson's Thriller and Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill.

Rapper Rich The Kid performs during boohooMAN Presents Illuminate Festival at At The P on June 11, 2018 in Los Angeles, California.

Correction 2/12 - A previous version of this story inaccurately stated that Usher was also a victim of the robbery. R&B singer Usher was reportedly recording at the same studio but he was not hurt.
