Aaron Ramsey 'signs £400k-a-week Juventus deal'

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey signs a pre-contract with Juventus which will earn the Wales global over £400,000 a week, according to a report.

The deal carries with it no transfer fee as his Arsenal contract expires on June 30.

The 28-year-old joined Arsenal from Cardiff City as an 18-year-old, and went on to become a central figure of the team, scoring their most important goal of the past decade - against Hull City to bring their nine-year trophy drought to an end.

A statement from the club read, "Juventus Football Club announces that Aaron Ramey will officially be a Juventus player from 1 July 2019".

The total value of the contract is about £62 million before tax and it will make Ramsey Juventus's second-highest earner behind Cristiano Ronaldo, the forward who is paid around £500,000 a week after tax.

The same report has claimed that the Welshman "passed a two-part medical in January", having chose to join Juve despite interest from a number of European clubs, including Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Ramsey - who has won three FA Cups at the London club - has passed a medical with the Turin club.

Ramsey wrote on Instagram: "You welcomed me as a teenager and have been there through all the highs and lows I've encountered during my time at the club".

Following the announcement, Ramsey issued a statement himself on his social media account.
