Toyota Tacoma sports lots of new tech features at Chicago Auto Show

Even if it won't fit on all your favorite trails, the Sequoia does fit visually with the rest of the TRD Pro family.

For the top-of-the-line TRD Pro Tacoma, things get kicked up another notch with new 16-inch wheels fitted in dark satin black; sequential LED/DRL headlights; taillights with black inserts; Panoramic View Monitor; and Multi-Terrain Monitor, which both allow the driver to see the trail using cameras. In addition, all grades of 2020 Sequoia, Tundra, 4Runner and Tacoma will utilize this updated audio system, though screen size may vary between models, Toyota added.

Smartphone compatibility as well as Amazon Alexa integration will be standard on all versions of the refreshed pickup truck, from base SR through the SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, and Limited trim levels.

Tacoma TRD Off-Road will feature a new front grille design, LED foglamp, chrome insert taillamp and Passenger Smart Key entry. Exclusive TRD all-weather floor mats and rear cargo mat capture the mud, sand and water dragged in from the outside and easily shake out for cleanup. With a chassis fortified by a TRD-tuned Fox shock absorber suspension, plus an array of proven off-road equipment specially designed or selected by Toyota Racing Development engineers, the full-size Sequoia TRD Pro offers off-road thrills for seven.

The Tacoma TRD Pro comes standard with 4WDemand part-time 4-wheel drive with an electronically controlled transfer case and an electronically controlled locking rear differential.

Most Tacoma grades also get a power adjustable driver seat for the first time - and every trim comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense P. That includes pre-collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, automatic high-beams, and radar cruise control.

Tacoma Access Cab models ride on a 127.4-inch wheelbase and have a 73.7-inch-long bed.

The Sequoia TRD Pro wields the same engine as always - a 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 that puts out 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. The V-6 offers a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic. Pricing will be announced closer to the vehicle's market launch.
