India vs New Zealand, 3rd T20I in Hamilton

In their allotted quota of 20 overs, New Zealand ended up scoring 212-4.

India vs New Zealand 3 T20 will be played at Seddon Park, Hamilton, New Zealand from 8.30 AM IST.

It took a lightning fast stumping by MS Dhoni off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav to break the partnership. However, in the last moment, team India lost the match by 4 runs.

The New Zealand wicket-keeper stepped out of the crease but got beaten on the outside edge by the wrong one. After losing his opening partner, Rohit Sharma built a crucial partnership with Vijay Shankar. While the southpaw started off his innings with a boundary and two sixes, Pandya too hit a six off his very first ball.

Shikhar Dhawan fell early in the India reply but Rohit Sharma (38) and, in particular, Vijay Shankar (43) kept the tourists up with the required rate.

India took the match to the final over, when they needed 16 runs from Tim Southee's six deliveries, but the veteran Black Caps seamer delivered in the crunch. In between these two dismissals, the Kiwis also got the wicket of a settled Rohit Sharma to tilt the odds in their favour.

Dinesh Karthik refused a single off the third ball of the final over which would have put Krunal Pandya on strike, leaving India needing 13 from three.

Colin Munro's explosive 72 set New Zealand up for victory with a four-run win over India in a cliff-hanger finish to Sunday's Twenty20 match in Hamilton, handing the hosts a 2-1 series victory.

New Zealand handed India their worst defeat in the first T20I before the visitors bounced back with a clinical performance in the second game.

Runs came thick and fast as skipper Kane Williamson contributed 27 and Colin de Grandhomme produced a crucial 30-run cameo off 16-balls.
