Ariana Grande sets the record straight on why she's skipping the Grammys

She can prepare an act "overnight", thank you very much!

Ariana Grande weathered many difficulties past year.

Ehrlich had told the Associated Press that Grande was in talks to perform at the Grammys on Sunday, but ultimately "felt it was too late for her to pull something together". "I can pull together a performance over night and you know that, Ken", tweeted Grande.

It's widely speculated to be about Pete Davidson, who she started seeing and got engaged to shortly after her breakup with Mac Miller previous year.

Rumour has it Grande is already working on a new album - or at least she's writing songs that might just end up on one.

Ariana Grande's anticipated fifth album, thank u, next, just dropped on streaming services - just five months after she released Sweetener. It was when my creativity and self expression was stifled by you, that I decided not to attend.

Ariana Grande has accused the organisers behind the Grammy Awards of "lying" and "playing games".

Her absence will be a blow for the Grammys, which has featured her in advertising - Grande tweeted that she "passed a Grammys bus with my face on it" - for a show whose ratings fell to an all-time low previous year.

Even though she may not be on the best terms with Ehrlich right now, she still expressed gratitude for her nominations.

"Hope that helps everyone understand my decision". "I am still grateful for the acknowledgment this year".

The new album includes title track Thank U, Next, which was released in November and reached number one in 13 countries including the United States, the UK, Canada, Australia and Lebanon. She also received a nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance.

The Grammys are slated to be held on February 10 and will see a stellar line up of music artists performing to their hit and soulful tracks.
