Technical Issues Affecting Wells Fargo Customers

- Wells Fargo says it's experiencing a nationwide issue related to its online banking and mobile app. The employee said the outage could last until Friday. We're working to restore services as soon as possible.

Starting around 6am Pacific Time (2pm UTC), the American bank's online portal and its mobile application have been totally unusable.

This was the second time in a week Wells Fargo customers had an issue accessing the bank's online system.

More details to come.

However not all customers have been impacted the same and there were unconfirmed reports that customers were having issues accessing cash from ATMs. Wells said it was still working to restore services.

The Wells Fargo Twitter account tweeted after the outage had been impacting users for more than an hour.

The company on Twitter apologized to its customers and asked for patience while it once again sorted out the issue.

The banking corporation verified the outage on Thursday after blaming the disruption on a "power shutdown" at one of their main facilities. Some customers reported that cards were being declined as well.

Wells Fargo on Thursday blamed the technical issues on smoke, which was "detected following routine maintenance".
