Detroit Pistons trade Stanley Johnson to Bucks for Thon Maker

The Pelicans are also receiving several draft picks in the the deal, according to Tim Bontemps, but none are coming from the Pistons.

After the 76ers agreed to a deal to bring the Clippers' Tobias Harris to Philadelphia on Wednesday, the Bucks landed Stanley Johnson from the Pistons to improve their perimeter defense.

Maker is 7-1 and was selected 10th overall by the Bucks in 2016.

This season, Mirotic is averaging 16.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists for New Orleans. However, Johnson's 38.1 field-goal percentage this season is a career high. The Montenegro native has averaged at least 10.0 points per game in each of his five seasons and earned All-Rookie honors following his rookie season in 2014-15.

Maker wants more court time after watching his minutes dwindle at the Bucks since with the arrival of head coach Mike Budenholzer.

Stanley Johnson came to Detroit in the 2015 National Basketball Association draft as the #8 pick, and we all saw how badly SVG placed him on the court plus, never really developed as we fans expected, even when he gave us a sweet defensive match-up against LeBron James in the 2016 Playoffs. He was traded from the Washington Wizards in early December. The Milwaukee Bucks made a decision to go all-in this season and make a play for Mirotic, who is averaging a career-high 16.7 points per game in the Big Easy this season.
