So, Apex Legends is clearly off to a blazing start, but the real test will come in the longer-term picture, and whether this success can be sustained over the coming months.

Apex Legends showcases several new genre-leading innovations, starting before players even start the match. What's more, an intelligent inventory system will automatically attach equipment to the right weapons when you pick it up. In addition, there's also body armor, grenades, and healing items.

Here is a gameplay trailer giving an overview of the mechanics and different gameplay modes in Apex Legends.

In terms of graphics, Apex Legends looks good, but it doesn't look unbelievable, even on the highest possible settings. Vince Zampella, the CEO of developer Respawn Entertainment, took to Twitter to celebrate the milestone for the game which is the self-declared "next evolution" of battle royale. According to Kotaku, Apex Legends will play like: "Titanfall mixed with Overwatch and Blackout from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4".
