Energizer mobiles to feature pop-up cameras, 18,000mAh batteries and foldable displays

Avenir Telecom, a licensee of Energizer Holdings, will release 26 new smartphone models among four product lines bearing the Energizer brand at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona on February 25-28, according to a tweet by the brand.

The Power Max and Ultimate lines each includes several Android devices, including a smartphone with a powerful 18,000-milliamp-hour battery.

The most exciting aspects of these recent reports are talking about the possibility of the launch of an Energizer Mobile folding smartphone which would launch right after Samsung ould reveal its one foldable phone, the Galaxy F device.

At this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, though, Energizer its taking its smartphone lineup a few steps further.

The "Ultimate" series will include the Energizer Ultimate U620S Pop and the Energizer Ultimate U630S Pop, both of which feature dual pop-up selfie cameras. Yes, these phones will have two selfie cameras - 16 MP and 2 MP - popping up from the top.

Apparently the specs of these phones are still subject to change, but MediaTek Helio chipsets, 720p screens, 4GB-6GB of RAM and 64GB-128GB of on-board storage are said to be on the way. The Energizer Ultimate U620S Pop features a 6.2-inch display that draws power from a 3,200mAh battery. The Energizer Ultimate U630S Pop will hit the market in June, while the Energizer Ultimate U620S Pop will be made available in July.

Energizer did launch a 16,000mAh phone at MWC last year, so this isn't entirely unexpected - but that phone was a bit of a brick and took forever to charge, so we're hoping for improvements on that front with this year's model. In the camera department, this handset has a 16MP and 13MP dual rear camera setup that offer Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and dual-tone dual-LED flash. Hence, it is very likely that the upcoming 18,000mAh battery phone from the company could be the successor of the Power Max P16K Pro.

You might have never heard of Energizer before but it's one of the world's largest manufacturers of batteries.
