Sarri angrily tells reporter he has no answer for Willian's new deal

"You know very well that Willian for us is really a very important player", Sarri told reporters after the 30-year-old Brazilian tormented relegation-threatened Newcastle.

But speaking after Chelsea's 2-1 victory over Newcastle United in the Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night, Willian stated categorically that his future remains at Chelsea.

Chelsea began the season in excellent form under new coach Maurizio Sarri, leading to many fans and pundits predicting a push for the Premier League title, although they have fallen behind the league leaders in recent weeks. "I need an option for that position", he sad.

The 30-year-old scored the victor against Newcastle following Pedro's first half goal.

"Maybe he has 12 years of contract, I don't know".

On his decisive goal and the win over Newcastle, he added: 'I think it's always hard in the Premier League.

"We conceded a goal we could avoid but after that we were fighting for every ball; these players care you could see that", Benitez told the BBC. "For us he's fundamental".

Willian was unable to double his tally when, like Pedro before him, he was played through with a simple lofted pass, with Dubravka this time getting a touch to the attempted lob.

"After the goal something happened, we stopped playing".

"It's got nothing to do with business dealings I've got with his company", said Ferdinand, whose Five brand is available to buy at Sports Direct, a sports-goods retailer founded by Ashley. The lack of a goalscorer was glaring - and Willian warned: "We started the game well and then the team goes down, and that was the problem". With Eden [Hazard] as a striker, we need wingers. We scored after 10 minutes by attacking spaces behind the lines with Pedro. "In my opinion, Willian has to stay with us".

Asked if Hazard enjoyed operating as a striker, Sarri said: "Not in the first half".

"We need to improve in the mental reaction".

"Today wasn't the difficulty, we didn't face that".
