‘Game Of Thrones’ Releases Bone-Chilling Trailer, Release Date For Final Season

Draw your swords: the eighth and final season of HBO's Game of Thrones is almost here, and its first teaser is out now. Game of Thrones will officially return to HBO on April 14, 2019.

We know Game of Thrones season eight is like "six movies".

While GoT Season 8 will only be six episodes total, which is down from seven last season and the usual ten in all prior seasons, each episode will reportedly play out like an entire feature film.

We know this, because HBO revealed its premiere date alongside tonight's premiere of True Detective's third season.

Check it out below... "#ForTheThrone." The video clip shows Jon Snow, Sansa and Arya - three members of the Stark family - making their way through the crypts under their family home.

Now, obsessed fans will remember that Lyanna Stark said those very words when she gave birth to Jon and handed the newborn baby to Ned just before she died.

Ned speaks to Jon Snow, reiterating that he is a Stark even if he doesn't have his name. Suddenly, Jon's candle blows out and an icy mist rolls into the crypt as Jon and Arya draw their swords.

This new teaser, however, is their best work to date, and, as we grow closer to April 14, a full-length trailer shouldn't be too far off. The three then come together and confront three statues in their likeness, before the torches blow out and a chilly mist creeps through the crypts. For instance, when Jon passes Lyanna, the feather placed in her hands by Robert Baratheon in season one falls to the floor.

Game of Thrones is based on George R.R. Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire, but has since moved beyond the events in his novels.
