For Sunday rain will be in the forecast for most of the day with highs near 40°.

We are already tracking our next chance for snow arriving on Friday with the possibility of accumulation again.

"Given the many moving parts, what we have out now will no doubt shift further, so keep close watch on the forecast", Martin said.

Meteorologists began nudging up earlier predictions of 2 inches to 4 inches of snowfall Saturday morning, as some weather forecasting models began suggesting a chance for perhaps a foot or more of snowfall. It was unclear how reliable those last-minute predictions could be.

"Snow will overspread the region Saturday into Sunday".

"Winter weather advisories stretch from Colorado and northern New Mexico to West Virginia, including Denver, Kansas City, Des Moines, Louisville, Columbus and Charleston, West Virginia". Baltimore, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Greenville-Spartanburg, Indianapolis, Louisville, Raleigh-Durham, Richmond, Washington Dulles and Washington Reagan National airports could also face issues Saturday and Sunday, the airline warned. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for counties south of 36 Highway, including Platte, Clinton, Caldwell, and Livingston.

A winter storm warning is in effect for the entire area from 1 p.m. Saturday until Sunday evening. South of the Triad less than ½ inch of snow and sleet. All of that came in November.

A number of schools and organizations have announced closures due to expected snowfall in the Kansas City area over the next 24 hours.
