URI box-office collection day 1: Vicky Kaushal film takes a solid start

The film stars Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Kirti Kulhari, Mohit Raina and Paresh Rawal in key roles. The film released across the country on January 11 and has managed to impress both critics and the audience.

Vicky also praised his co-actors and director Aditya Dhar for being part of the film.

It's a movie marathon week for cinegoers as three big films - URI: The Surgical Strike, The Accidental Prime Minister and Petta have hit theatres.

Both movies are expected to pick up pace over the weekend.

Vicky described the feeling as surreal after Uri was accepted by the audience.

Post Uri, Vicky Kaushal will be seen in the upcoming film Takht that is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2020. "Till the film is released, you don't have an idea if it is going to work".

Box Office Collection Day 3 (Sun): Yet to update...

The Surgical Strike has had a satisfactory start at the box office with a collection of Rs 8.20 crore at the domestic market on first day.

Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike is a military-drama based on the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Armed Forces across the Line of Control on September 29, 2016.

The film has now collected Rs. 19.70 crore* and what has to be seen is that how much closer to the Rs. 35 crore do the collections arrive once the weekend is through. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film saw a good opening on the initial day of release on Friday despite competition from Anupam Kher's "The Accidental Prime Minister" and Rajinikanth's "Petta".
