Philippe Coutinho To Make Way For Neymar Return?

Philippe Coutinho To Make Way For Neymar Return?

"Dembele has overtaken him a little bit, but he's a player we consider to be a starter and he'll be very important for us for the rest of the season".

Manchester United have been linked with a lot of players in the winter transfer window. MARCA reports he is at rock bottom due to the current situation.

Manchester United could be looking to pull off a shock move for the former talisman of their bitter rivals, and bring Philippe Coutinho to Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old joined the Catalans from Liverpool in January 2018 for a fee around £145 million but has failed to impress the coaches at Camp Nou.

That's because some of the bonus clauses they are entitled to following Coutinho's departure would be rendered obsolete.

In a fresh report, the Evening Standard claims that Barca want Neymar back at the club and Coutinho "could be the player sold to help raise funds for the move".

"Now Coutinho isn't playing and it's the other way around".

"Now and again you can get a kid at 18 years of age who bursts into the first team, but normally they have to follow a certain path of progression, it's not so easy", the Barça coach said. The Italian outlet has reported that Barcelona will "listen" to offers for Coutinho, but will likely not settle for less than the amount they paid to secure his transfer.

He's now played 34 at the time of writing, meaning the first payment has already been triggered - while Barca have already paid £4.4 million after qualifying for this season's Champions League and will do so again if they are in Europe's premier competition again next year as expected.

All in all, as per The Mirror, Liverpool would be missing out on a tidy £22 million in bonus payments if he was to leave Barcelona this month.
