Actor Craig McLachlan Charged With Indecent Assault

Actor Craig McLachlan Charged With Indecent Assault

The charges come a year after it was revealed several of McLachlan co-stars from the 2014 production of the Rocky Horror show had accused him of indecent and inappropriate behaviour.

Craig McLachlan, the former Neighbours star, has been charged with multiple counts of indecent assault, believed to be connected to his role in an Australian stage production of The Rocky Horror Show.

McLachlan was charged with the offences by a sex crime unit in the city of Melbourne.

The 53-year-old is due before the court on Friday, February 8.

A spokesman for McLachlan said the actor is innocent.

A spokesperson for the star has strongly denied the claims, telling local media: 'Craig is innocent of these charges which will be vigorously defended'.

A four-week trial is scheduled to commence in the NSW Supreme Court on February 4.

Melbourne police did not provide further details about the nature of the allegations.

The actor's career began in 1987 when he was cast as the brother of Kylie Minogue's character, Charlene, in Neighbours.

In December, he had a minor win in his defamation case, after a judge rejected a bid to include three new complaints about his time on TV series The Doctor Blake Mysteries.
