Monaco's Henry names second Chelsea player he wants

The Spanish midfielder has completed his move to Monaco.

The midfielder's switch to the Ligue 1 club brings the curtain down on his four-and-a-half- year Chelsea career, a period in which he won four major trophies.

Monaco, managed by Fabregas's former Arsenal team mate Thierry Henry, are struggling second from bottom of the Ligue 1 standings ahead of a crunch game against neighbours Olympique de Marseille on Sunday.

Fabregas described the move as "a new project", calling it a "great honour".

Last weekend, an emotional Fabregas applauded Chelsea's home fans at Stamford Bridge after making his last appearance for the club in an FA Cup match against Nottingham Forest.

Fabregas was previously Jorginho's deputy in the deepest midfield position, with the World Cup victor being the only other central player in our squad capable of dictating the play from that area of the pitch. "I'm here to help the team and I'm impatient to start. I am very excited", he added.

Fabregas scored 22 goals for the London club in 198 appearances.

"We are very pleased to welcome Cesc Fabregas, a world-class player and a great professional, whose arrival demonstrates the ambition of the club", said Vadim Vasilyev, the club's vice president and general manager.

There will be little time for the former Barcelona midfielder to enjoy the Principality, as Monaco now sit second from last in Ligue 1.

"This is obviously a very good reinforcement for the team and we are convinced that his experience at the highest level will bring a lot to our players on and off the field".
