Oklahoma City Thunder's Nerlens Noel leaves game on stretcher after hard fall

The match was held up four around five minutes in the third quarter when the Thunder's reserve centre Nerlens Noel was stretchered off the court with a head knock after making contact with Wiggins' elbow. I look right through him. As the two players met in mid-air, Noel went to the floor.

"I just tried to make an aggressive move and dunk", Wiggins said.

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Nerlens Noel is wheeled off the court on a stretcher in the second half of an NBA basketball game against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Oklahoma City, Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019.

"I don't even remember when I was 32", Thunder coach Billy Donovan joked before the game. "So the more he's around I think the better it is for all of us, just because of what he represents and what he's about". "I hope he gets healthy soon and comes back stronger".

After the game, Wiggins, who grew up north of Toronto in Vaughan, thought Schroder's actions were unwarranted and some thought he appeared to say "He was just gay".

Wiggins sent his well wishes to Noel following the game.

"He shouldn't be taking any blame for it whatsoever". It's just one of those insane plays that happen. Fortunately, they responded quite quickly, the medical staff and whatnot. "They're a thing that's only natural, but I feel very comfortable with this group of coaches and group if players, too".

Noel has been placed in the NBA's concussion protocol. The process includes a series of steps created to ensure an athlete exhibits symptom-free behavior before resuming basketball activities.

The number six overall pick of the 2013 draft is averaging 5.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game this season.

"I didn't know if it was necessarily going to work, going against their schemes", Saunders told The Athletic about an hour after a thrilling, tense 119-117 victory over the Thunder.
