Manchester City vs. Burton Albion (Carabao Cup)

Burton's Clough believes stopping Guardiola's City, particularly when they travel to the Etihad on Wednesday, is a tough task.

However, in eliminating Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough of the Championship and Premier League strugglers Burnley, Burton haven't yet faced anyone of City's calibre.

As is common in the competition, Guardiola has used the League Cup to give his full squad a run-out.

He has scored eight goals in 13 appearances for the Gunners this season.

However, Tottenham legend Lineker has been impressed with their ability to remain within touching distance of Liverpool FC and Manchester City this term - after they returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 3-0 win at Cardiff City last week. As it was he cleared the crossbar and City ran riot afterwards. There's even a case to made that getting to this stage is up there with what he has done in his managerial career, previously, but he's a competitor and despite everything being stacked against he and his players, Clough will not see this as just a case of turning up and being grateful they have reached this stage. Since taking over, he has won his first four matches in charge of United.

"It doesn't work in all the games and we have had more luck in this competition than within the league over the four or five games".

Chelsea play Tottenham Hotspur this Tuesday in the first leg of their semi-final, live on Sky Sports Football, with the return leg scheduled for January 24.

Oleksandr Zinchenko, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and Riyad Mahrez all got on the score-sheet as they battered the League One outfit nine-nil.

There's been two City's at times this season.

Manchester United 9-0 Ipswich Town (Premier League, March 1995): Andy Cole scored five goals as Sir Alex Ferguson's team recorded their biggest Premier League win but the title went to Blackburn Rovers.

After De Bruyne's header five minutes in, City needed another 25 minutes to find the net - nearly conceding in the meantime - but after Jesus scored a quickfire double after the half-hour mark, they were relentless in pushing forward and were looking for a 10th when the final whistle went.
