Scottie Pippen recalls Chicago meeting to tutor Kawhi Leonard

Kevin Durant's long 3-pointer missed as the buzzer sounded in what will go down as one of the best games this regular season - a rematch of the seven-game Western Conference finals won by two-time defending champion Golden State.

A fan sitting behind Mama Leonard captured the moment she stood up against a heckler, calling him an "as*hole" and telling him to "shut up". He released the ball with at least four hands in his face for the game-winner. He finished with a team-high 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting.

There were many more boos than cheers as former Spurs star Kawhi Leonard was introduced in his return to San Antonio Thursday night and they persisted throughout the duration of the game.

It was an emotionally charged game for the entire Spurs side, beginning with a tribute video the team showed for Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard before tip-off and then large cheers (Green) and boos (Leonard) as the players were introduced.

Leonard had to take a step back at the free throw line and compose himself amid chants of 'Traitor!

During a recent episode of Inside the Green Room with Danny Green, Rudy Gay, who now plays for the San Antonio Spurs with DeRozan, was asked about the quote.

Leonard helped lead the Spurs to an National Basketball Association championship in 2014 while being named Finals MVP, but played just nine games last season with some rather mysterious injury issues, leading many to believe he, in some way, "quit" on the team.

Leonard also spoke to San Antonio assistant coach Chip Engelland as well as former teammates Patty Mills, Bryn Forbes, Derrick White and Rudy Gay following Toronto's loss, according to ESPN. Mason Plumlee added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Buddy Hield scored 29 points and Nemanja Bjelica had 17 for the Kings.
