Harden's fifth straight 40-point game helps Rockets top Warriors in OT

It was Kawhi Leonard's first game back in San Antonio since he was traded. Golden State's Kevin Durant launched a long three-pointer as the buzzer sounded but missed the rim.

He even became the first player in league history to drop at least 35 points and five assists in eight-straight games, passing Oscar Robertson, and is also just the third player in 30 years to score 400 points over 10 games - joining Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

The Rockets star recorded his fifth successive 40-point game, while tallying a triple-double, and hit a game-winning three-pointer with just a second remaining in OT.

Harden finished the game with another triple-double of 44 points, 15 assists, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks. Yeah, I mean they're obviously an unbelievable team again, and we think we can get there and give them a real run for their money again. "It was a great game".

DeRozan and the Spurs dominated the battle of former teammates, leading by as many as 28 points in snapping the Raptors' three-game winning streak. Leonard had to take a step back at the free-throw line and compose himself amid chants of "Traitor! Traitor!" and "Quitter! Quitter!" rained down from the sold-out crowd of 18,500 at the AT&T Center arena.

Leonard, who was booed nearly everytime he touched the ball, had an average night with 21 points, 5 assists and 2 steals. They also went in on how narratives can fuel awards, comparing it to the Heisman Trophy, adding that numbers won't be the end-all-be-all if Harden wants to get the award for the second straight year. We all make decisions in our lives, what we are going to do with our futures, and he has that same right as any of us.

"I don't think we played with that killer instinct in the second half", Thompson said.
