New ‘Captain Marvel’ Trailer Is the Best One Yet

Given how Avengers: Infinity War ended, it would make sense not to reveal too much of what we can expect in the next film, especially in regards to the fates of numerous characters after that fateful snap at the very least to keep the illusion of lasting effects. At this point, Samuel L. Jackson's Fury is just a low-level S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, and Carol's arrival on Earth is his first encounter with the unusual and extraterrestrial.

Having said that, there are still some things to criticise about this latest step in Captain Marvel's marketing.

The new trailer is 90 seconds long, which is long enough to see and learn more about Brie Larson's Captain Marvel. To prove that she is not one of the shape-shifting, villainous Skrulls, Danvers shoots a photon blast to prove to Fury that she is one of the good guys. And with some of the original Avengers expected to bow out in the near future and a history with Nick Fury, it seems likely she could be drafted in to Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the future. Apparently, Captain Marvel is "just the beginning". There, she meets Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury - a young, two-eyed, eyepatch-less Nick that the Captain Marvel digital effects team created by de-aging Jackson in post-production. And we also get to see and hear more of Jude Law's Yon-Rogg - or is he Mar-Vell? - in action.

Captain Marvel is the first solo female superhero lead in the MCU and stars Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson, The film will be co-director by Anna Boden who is the first woman to helm an MCU movie. He'll find Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be born.

Captain Marvel is sure to kick off what should be a rollercoaster of a 2019 for Marvel Studios.
