Alleged Tri-Folding Xiaomi Smartphone Appears In Leaked Video

For those who aren't sure, the video shows a foldable device running Android under Xiaomi's MIUI skin.

An alleged video is out on the internet showing a mysterious Xiaomi phone which can be folded from two sides.

Blass says it's unclear whether the device in the video is legitimate, and whether Xiaomi indeed made it.

And that's not all - as it turns out, Xiaomi is also working on a foldable phone.

Google has announced native support in Android for foldables and has said to expect several new foldable Android devices, which will have either two screens or one screen. Xiaomi has several Redmi and Mi phones and also Poco F2 to launch this year, then there's a foldable phone that the company is reportedly working on. Samsung's phone folds in half like a wallet with the screen on the inside.

Samsung showed off the foldable phone prototype in early November, although the phone's design was hidden in a bulky case.

2019, like it or not, is going to be a year of foldable phones, phablets, or whatever we end up calling these devices.

Samsung wants its folding phone to have a long battery life. This is likely something that could be fixed, but is definitely an new issue that's created by a device with a curved display.

It can be confirmed in the video that the foldable phone is from Xiaomi by the user interface.

A dual-screen device patent recently filed by Microsoft includes a third screen attached to the devices hinge that can display information in a variety of configurations.
