Strictly Come Dancing Final: Fans go wild for Craig Revel Horwood

But James admitted he doubts she will head to victory, having been in the bottom two for three consecutive weeks.

Despite the flack she's received Ashley takes it all in her stride and said: "I think the motivation comes natural [to me]".

Faye Tozer and Ashley Roberts have topped the scores in tonight's Strictly Come Dancing 2018 final results.

Evans described Roberts' string of dance-offs as the "elephant in the room" and that he thinks it has been "unfair" that she was repeatedly not backed by the public.

"I just looked at [Pasha Kovalev] and said: "Hey look, we've just got to go out there and enjoy ourselves". "But of course all of us would really love to win, just once".

All of the Strictly finalists and their dance partners appeared on the radio show, two days ahead of the last episode of the series. "But it's all worth it when you go out there and look back".

He added: "I just thought I would give it a chance and see what happens and it's a whole new audience and it's gone down an absolute storm and nowadays I think I get stopped more out and about by the older generation, people that have known me from Strictly rather than from YouTube and stuff, it's been so nice".

"But then after that week we upped our hours, we've been doing 14-hour days of training ever since, that's the difference". And speaking at the Strictly final press conference, the Pussycat Dolls star opened up about her struggle of dealing with the backlash from viewers and how it has been an "emotional rollercoaster ride" when she faced the dreaded-dance off week after week. Ashley and her dancer partner Pasha Kovalev have undeniably been one of this year's strongest couples, having scored the first 40 of the series due to their spectacular jive.

Daly and Winkleman both refused to spill any secrets about this weekend's finale, which will see Stacey Dooley, Joe Sugg, Faye Tozer and Ashley Roberts compete for the glitterball trophy.

The Steps star said that, early on, she was angling to be partnered with Giovanni Pernice.

Kevin said: "Thank you so much, not just for being so incredible and dancing so well, but just for being the most wonderful person to work with".

Strictly Come Dancing's Grand Final airs on Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
