The 26-year-old man who goes by the handle MrDeadMoth was arrested after someone saw the video and reported it to police.

The man was also served with an order which prohibits him from harassing, threatening and intimidating behaviour. Moth's wife, who is not on camera, asks him to stop playing Fortnite.

The sound of someone being struck can then be heard followed by a woman wailing before she says: "You f***ing woman basher".

He was taken to Narellan Police Station where he has been charged with common assault. He is scheduled to appear in a local courthouse on Thursday.

The woman was not seriously injured but told police she was "distressed" and "shaken", according to Network 10.

Viewers on the streaming site Twitch reportedly alerted police, who arrested Munday at his Oran Park residence in southwest Sydney.

In the wake of charges being laid Telstra confirmed they had suspended Munday as police carry out their investigation.
