The mum-of-three was visiting the RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus on Wednesday when she told one fan that her son is already practising one very important royal duty.

The main objective of the event was to support the staff of the Royal air force base "Akrotiri Aksu", working in Cyprus during the holidays.

William and Kate met with those family members and engaged in activities like stocking decorating, cracker making, snow globe decorating and party kits.

Kate The Duchess of Cambridge meets children at Kensington Palace in London, where she is hosting a Christmas party for families and children of serving Air Force personnel.

During a visit to the Oasis Centre at the British RAF Base on the Greek island of Cyprus, William and Kate joined military members for a spot of pizza and cake.

Never failing to miss an opportunity, William later joked that his wife was in flawless colour coordination with the Christmas tree.

Duchess Kate also revealed that she tried to bring Prince George and Princess Charlotte down to enjoy the fun after their school day, but sadly, the party was all packed up by then.

The Duchess empathised with the time troops were spending away from their families in service to the UK.

"The absence of people you love must be especially hard at this time of year", Kate continued. "We should never forget our military families and all the service you do for us all".

Prince William spent seven years working in the military, most recently as a helicopter pilot for the RAF Search and Rescue based in Anglesey in North Wales. "Whereas for the families at home, there's that empty chair around the table at Christmas Day where we're normally sat". His wife playfully volleyed back, "You're a nightmare with that!"
