West Ham boss Pellegrini delighted with Chicharito, Anderson for Newcastle win

Newcastle made one change from their win over Burnley as Manquillo replaced Clark. Since winning their first game, the Magpies have won three straight games.

"It was unexpected and unfortunate", said Dubravka.

"Andy is maybe one step (further) forward than Wilshere because he played 45 minutes in the friendly game that we had against Brentford", added Pellegrini. Newcastle have scored only 11 goals this season, with Rondon and Joselu both scoring twice this season.

Pellegrini also revealed that Jack Wilshere could feature on Saturday following his latest injury.

Carroll will be expected to start on the bench once more, with Marko Arnautovic continuing to lead the line, despite having limped off the last fixture.

The Newcastle vs West Ham game should have been an evenly matched contest but the fact that Pellegrini has as many as six injury concerns puts the initiative aptly in Rafa Benitez's lap. "Today they did not have one distraction".

"We were too open, and they punished us for it".

He said: "When you see the players they have up front, the value and the level that they have. I hope we give maximum of our pace and quality to have three points more (against Cardiff) and after that to think of the next rival".

Hernandez wasted two good chances to score, failing to connect with a cross from Arnautovic before firing into the side-netting when he only had Dubravka to beat.

"We felt confident beforehand, especially at home". Make a good run, he's going to find you. I am very happy for him and for the team. Over their last four games, West Ham have picked up five points.

"Felipe is improving game by game", said Zabaleta.

"He's a very professional player".

Anderson told West Ham TV: "Certainly this season we haven't been able to be consistent". But after Hernandez made it 2-0, Newcastle's heads dropped and the wind was really taken out of their sails.

Perez endured a torrid time in front of goal during the first half, initially heading over from a corner when unmarked and then failing to hit the target with his left and right foot.
