Z Calls Out Kanye West on Meek Mill’s ‘What’s Free’

Jay-Z, who seldom uses Twitter, went on the platform to clear the air about his verse on a new song. After Meek dropped his highly-anticipated fourth studio album, Championships, on Friday (November 30), the Internet could not get over what many initially deemed as shade thrown at Kanye and Donald Trump by Jay.

"The line clearly meant don't pit me against my brothers no matter what our differences are (red hat) now go pick up Meek album". This time around, Drake also gives Meek a special shoutout for the album on his Instagram.

On the standout cut, which is a take on The Notorious B.I.G.'s "What's Beef", Hov calls out the MAGA hat-wearing Trump supporter. "I ain't one of these house n***as you bought". Jay-Z takes shots at those controlling the music industry and touting black excellence.

But Jay-Z asked fans not to misinterpret the line, saying he and West are on the same side, essentially. Jay-Z's clarification was the first time he tweeted since last June.

Jay-Z continues by trashing President Trump, but stops short of comparing Melania Trump to his wife Beyonce.

Jay-Z was one of Meek Mill's most famous supporters when he was sentenced to two to four years in prison for violating probation. Preparing himself for war, the 31-year-old rapper composed his newest album Championships, an uncompromising, no holds barred soundtrack detailed his journey through life.
