Tyson Fury vows to stop Deontay Wilder in showdown

Tyson Fury vows to stop Deontay Wilder in showdown

Tempers flared during the heavyweight pair's head-to-head meeting when Wilder poked Fury in the face, with the British fighter then taking his jacket and shirt off after a scuffle broke out behind him. He took a lengthy hiatus following his lineal heavyweight title victory over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. "Wilder will tell the story better than me because he's got the messages in his phone", Fury told IFL TV.

"On Saturday I'm going to punch Wilder's face in for him".

"Wilder hasn't always been this brash, colorful character we see today", Fury said. "I say I'm the best, the baddest man on the planet". And everyone was talking to me.

"He looked very nervous, I didn't instigate that, he did". "He felt that he needed to scream and shout at me and do all that sort of stuff to try start a bit of a tussle". That was exciting, wasn't it?

"I do not know what I am going to do". I'm here to do a job and enjoy myself, and I hope the boxing fans around the world are going to enjoy this fight as much as I will. They don't even deny it.

"He couldn't make it in (American) football or basketball, because he wasn't good enough". If I win a close fight I'll class it as a loss because it's not enough for me. But Deontay Wilder is happy to come in the top three. Now he has a bit of swag about him, but it's not genuine, it's fake.

Wilder also took a shot at Fury's performance against Klitschko. When he beat Klitschko that was his time, that was his window. But now it's my time.

The great Klitschko was once again a significant favourite, having been undefeated for 11 years in establishing himself as the finest heavyweight of his era. If Klitschko would have thrown more punches the fight would have been different - we all know this.

Deontay Wilder's skills in the boxing ring are clear for all to see, but if this video is anything to go by it appears he can hold his own on the basketball court too.

"Saturday night you've got a different beast".
