Renders and promotional images of the Nokia 8.1 were leaked recently, providing details about the design, specifications, and software features of the device.

When Nokia announced that all their future devices will be running either Android Go or Android One we expected (and were promised) to see fast Android version updates. The phone has the same display notch and a vertical dual rear camera setup as we found in Nokia X7. With its 3500mAh battery that lasts two days between charges, the Nokia 3.1 Plus can effortlessly get you through your Netflix binges without needing a top-up.

Furthermore, the leaked marketing materials corroborated previous reports that detailed the specifications and features of the Nokia 8.1.

This means that the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, instead of the 8xx-series chipsets that powered the 8 and 8 Sirocco, which may not be a welcome downgrade. As for the cameras, the Nokia 8.1 will offer a Zeiss-branded dual cameras on the back with a 12MP + 13MP configuration, and a 20MP front-facing camera, which would be a major bump from the Nokia 7 Plus. They have shown they are still committed to these updates with the rolling out of Android 9.0 to the Nokia 7.1 which began yesterday.

In addition to the latest Android security patch and the all-new Camera app, the changelog shared by some users on Twitter reveals the new software update brings a list of Android Pie features. With Nokia's continued participation to Google's stock Android program, buyers of the handset should continue to expect at least two software upgrades from the device maker.
