Ball sprains ankle but plans to play in Lakers' next game

"I'm serious." That patience seemed to have run out because the LeBron from Cleveland who dominated the ball has returned, despite the Lakers notion saying he would be used more off-the-ball in an effort to conserve energy.

The Lakers will certainly be facing an uphill battle should Ball be out for the game against the Indiana Pacers. It can't be. Because you want to pass it around, you want to get into your pick-and-roll plays.

The Lakers do have short-term solutions to the point guard dilemma in Brandon Ingram and James.

James scored 12 of his 38 points in the final five minutes, and the Lakers rebounded from their first back-to-back losses in a month with a 104-96 victory over the Pacers.

"I think tonight was one of those instances where they looked at me and wanted me to close the game, and I just tried to make plays, both offensively and defensively".

IN held a brief lead in the third quarter, erasing a 24-point deficit, but the Lakers turned it on again to finish off the win. "BI [Brandon Ingram], Lance [Stephenson], Kuz [Kyle Kuzma] as well". "Those guys have the ability to make plays as well".

"It's a challenge and an adjustment for me". He also has the distinction of being the only player in history with at least 31,000 points, 8,000 rebounds, and 8,000 assists.

"We'll probably get a better idea of what we're dealing with after this flight and into tomorrow", Walton added.

James' Cleveland Cavaliers eliminated the Pacers from the playoffs in each of the past two seasons, going to seven games in the opening round previous year.

Lakers coach Luke Walton said it is all about finding the right time in the game for James to go full bore, without feeling the need to do so for the entire 48 minutes.

"He sprained his left ankle pretty good", Walton said. And he knows when those times are. We were not allowing them to get any shots.
