Facebook, Instagram outage reported across the country

They were focused in Europe and the east coast of the U.S., though that may be largely a result of timezones.

A rush of issues have been reported this lunchtime, as users report being unable to load the page at all.

If you're finding it hard or slow to access Facebook and Instagram then you're not alone and it's not your network.

Users are also reporting that Instagram is also down.

Facebook and Instagram, sister social media platforms and addiction of many a people around the world are experiencing an outage in many parts of the world. Many users of Facebook, as well as its sister website Instagram, have claimed that they are not able to access the websites.

It's amusing how Twitter becomes so popular when Facebook goes down as everyone complains about it and uses the hashtag - #Facebookdown.

The outage comes as Facebook's stock price continues to slide.

The app appears to have crashed shortly after 3 p.m. (ET), with thousands of reports streaming in before 3:30. "We're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible", said the company in a tweet on its official Twitter account.

Facebook has acknowledged the outage.

According to the website Downdetector, which measures outages of popular sites across the web, the problems started at around 1pm on Tuesday, November 20.
