But LeVert returned to NY with the rest of the Nets late Monday, and he was evaluated Tuesday morning by Brooklyn's team orthopedist, Dr. Martin O'Malley, at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

Nets guard Caris LeVert sustained what appeared to be a severe right leg injury during the second quarter of Brooklyn's game against Minnesota on Monday night and was taken to a hospital.

He was carried off the court and taken to a hospital for further evaluation.

He has emerged as one of the NBA's young breakout stars in his third season, blossoming into a cornerstone of the Nets' rebuild. Players on both teams were in shock and started praying for LeVert, who is only 24-years-old. He entered Monday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves averaging 19.0 points and shooting at a stellar 48 percent from the field. No surgery is needed, and he is expected to return this season. "Caris will begin a period of rehabilitation with the Nets' performance staff, following which he is expected to return to full strength and resume all basketball activities without any limitations this season". Before getting hurt, Caris had put up 10 points, five assists and four rebounds.
