Aerosmith's Joe Perry hospitalized after jamming with Billy Joel

Last night, legendary Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry surprised fans attending Billy Joel's concert last night at Madison Square Garden. The guitarist had performed Walk This Way onstage with Joel before reportedly collapsing in his dressing room. Paramedics were called to the scene, where they placed a tracheal tube down Perry's throat to clear his airway amid panic in his dressing room.

Perry's representative sent a statement to The Blast on Sunday morning that clarifies the nature of Perry's medical treatment and his current condition.

The incident has forced him to cancel a planned appearance today in Florida at Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp.

Perry, 68, suffered from shortness of breath, according to a statement released by his spokesperson.

Reports suggested his health problems on that occasion stemmed from a combination of dehydration and exhaustion, and the group's frontman, Alice Cooper, speculated at the time that Joe might have been unprepared for the rigours of a world tour. The musician is also slated to join his bandmates when they begin their Las Vegas residency in April 2019. "Perry is expected to return to the road later this month".
