Dez Bryant Fears Torn Achilles After Injury at Saints Practice

Dez Bryant Fears Torn Achilles After Injury at Saints Practice

Bryant, who has been unemployed since being cut by the Cowboys April 13, joined the Saints on Wednesday after agreeing to a one-year, $600,000 deal.

National Football League wide receiver Dez Bryant has sat out most of the year after being released by the Dallas Cowboys last spring. Unfortunately, the top team in the NFC South just received horrendous news surrounding its newest acquisition. With Ted Ginn Jr. and Cameron Meredith on injured reserve, New Orleans made the bold move to add the former Oklahoma State product.

Bryant was not expected to play this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals as coach Sean Payton wanted to him to get in better shape by dropping five pounds and also have more time to get a grasp of the offense.

In just his second practice with New Orleans, the newly acquired wide receiver indicated in social media posts Friday that he has had a significant setback.

ESPN's Adam Schefter clarified that Bryant's MRI is largely considered a formality, and he'll be sidelined for eight months, with a chance of returning for training camp. With the Dallas Cowboys on the schedule, it would have been exciting to see him play against his former team.
