Justice Ginsburg hospitalized after fracturing ribs in fall

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been hospitalized after breaking several ribs after falling in her court office on Wednesday.

"A$3 fter experiencing discomfort overnight", she was admitted to Goerge Washington University Hospital on Thursday morning.

If you recall, this is not the first time Ginsburg has broken her ribs.

Justice Ginsburg, a liberal who is the court's senior justice, has served for more than 25 years after being appointed by former President Bill Clinton in 1993.

Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to his Supreme Court seat in October gave conservative justices a 5-4 advantage on the nation's highest court that could be in place for decades. The hospital determined that "fractured three ribs on her left side".

Ginsburg has survived bouts with colorectal cancer and pancreatic cancer, and had a stent implanted to open a blocked artery in 2014.

Originally from New York, Ginsburg is known for her lifetime of work fighting for women's rights and gained social media popularity in recent years with her own meme and nickname, "Notorious R.B.G". President Donald Trump and new acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker were on hand.

Arberg did not provide additional details about how Ginsburg fell or whether she fell because of another medical condition.

"I'm now 85", she said.

For what it's worth, Ginsburgh apparently has no plans of stepping down, and has even hired clerks for the term that extends into 2020.
