Talking Point: What is causing Pochettino's Spurs blues?

Talking Point: What is causing Pochettino's Spurs blues?

PSV's only point comes courtesy of the draw with Spurs in the Netherlands on 24 October.

Spurs appeared to be doomed as they trailed for much of the Group B match, but they turned things around late on to capitalise on the Italian side dropping points at home to Barcelona. Tottenham are in third place, three points behind second-place Inter. We deserved more. If we're able to beat them the percentage to be in the next stage will be higher.

Describing Tottenham's campaign so far as "a weird season", Pochettino has sought solace in the political drama House of Cards recently.

There were large swathes of empty seats around Wembley as Tottenham fans showed their frustration at their team's spluttering European form.

1- PSV take an early lead!

Their vulnerability from set-pieces was again exposed as De Jong, who scored PSV's late equaliser in Eindhoven a fortnight ago, out-jumped everyone and planted a firm header into the corner from Gaston Pereiro's corner.

The Champions League match between Tottenham and PSV Eindhoven will be broadcast live on B/R Live. Pochettino's concern will lay elsewhere, with Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min failing to reach anywhere near the levels fans have become accustomed to. Mauricio Pochettino will rely on a center-back pairing of Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld. Who else but Harry Kane! .

Moura's initial shot was blocked by goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet before the Brazilian scuffed the rebound over the bar.

Kane was to the fore once again in the dying embers of the contest, his headed attempted clipping Sainsbury on its way into the net to leave PSV on the brink of elimination.

It was the same story after the interval as Tottenham probed for a leveller, only for PSV to soak up the pressure in stoic fashion.

But Tottenham kept pressing in composed style and Kane drilled a fierce strike that Zoet repelled at his near post.

The Dutch team had defended stoutly after Luuk De Jong's opening goal, a header from a corner, but was finally breached when Kane met a lay-off from substitute Fernando Llorente with a left-footed shot into the corner. Paulo Gazzaniga is set to deputize in goal.

The England striker had a stroke of fortune with the victor, his header from eight meters out deflecting into the net off PSV defender Trent Sainsbury.
