Kemp, Abrams Near Even in Race For Georgia Governor

Former President Jimmy Carter is wading into the final days of a Georgia governor's race that's rife with charges and countercharges of attempted voter fraud and attempted voter suppression. The former Georgia House of Representatives Minority Leader is in a hotly contested race against Republican Secretary of State Brian Kemp, and they are almost dead even in the polls.

According to RealClearPolitics's average of polls, Abrams and her Republican opponent Brian Kemp are in an extremely close race, with Kemp up by 1 percentage point. She is one of many celebrities who have come out in support of Abrams including John Legend, rapper Common and actor Will Ferrell.

During a stump speech for Republican Georgia gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp on Thursday, Vice President Mike Pence said the American people don't want lawmakers backed and bankrolled by "Hollywood liberals".

Winfrey has always been rumored to be a 2020 presidential candidate, but she quelled those rumors in her Thursday speech.

In a statement Saturday morning, Abigail Collazo, Abrams' director of strategic communication, accused Kemp and President Donald Trump of contributing to a political atmosphere that feeds such hate.

Stacey Abrams is the latest target of a racist robocall funded by The Road To Power.

"I was sitting at home in California, minding my own business, but I could not stop hearing about what's going on down here", Winfrey said, charming the crowd that had gathered to see her. The icon made it very clear, as she has before, that she has no plans of running for president, as per People's report. I'm not trying to test any waters - don't want to go in those waters.

"I'd like to remind Stacey and Oprah and Will Ferrell, I'm kind of a big deal, too", said Pence, who is not from Georgia.
