Amazon just announced its best Black Friday deal: Free shipping on everything

Some of Amazon's competitors are also offering free shipping this holiday season. For instance, Amazon's non-Prime free shipping program includes hundreds of millions of items, far more than Walmart's entire online selection of over 75 million.

Two-Day Shipping on 100 Million Items: Free Two-Day Shipping is available to all Prime members in the USA on more than 100 million items with no minimum purchase amount all year. For many Prime members, the convenience of having orders arrive every few days outweighs small markups imposed to allow for fast and free shipping.

If anyone does not have Prime and wants to try it, Amazon is willing to offer free trials even while this free shipping promotion runs its course.

Typically, Amazon shoppers have to spend $25 to qualify for free shipping or pay $119 a year for a Prime membership.

USA online retail sales in November and December will rise 14.8 percent, to $124 billion, software maker Adobe said last week in a forecast based on data from 80 of the 100 largest online retailers. Target announced last month it would offer free two-day shipping on all orders from November 1 to December 22. In the wake of Walmart's change, it lowered the threshold twice that same year: to $35, and then to the current non-promotional threshold of $25.

Amazon made another aggressive move against rivals Monday in the quest for online shoppers.

Those who subscribe to the service will "have an exclusive 30-minute early access period to all Lightning Deals", Amazon explained.

Amazon is hoping increase sales after the company's revenue projection for the rest of the year fell below some estimates.
