In the commercial for "Saturday Night Live", Davidson jokingly proposed to artist Maggie Roggers.

A lovely, mature message from Davidson. exactly 30 minutes after Ariana Grande released her brand new song, "Thank U, Next".

The 24-year-old comedian appeared on Weekend Update and first addressed the breakup by talking about moving back in with his mom after having to move out of Ari's apartment. "Sometimes things just don't work out and that's okay. And that's okay. She's a wonderful, strong person and I genuinely wish her all the happiness in the world".

In a twitter exchange with fans, Grande discussed the inspiration behind the forthcoming project which she declared will be named, Thank U, Next.

She had hinted on social media that she would be releasing new music, staring with this song and then a consequent album. Rather than being the sassy high-ponytailed kiss-off the title might suggest, "thank u, next" has a honest message of gratitude.

Pete Davidson's been making engagement jokes about Ariana Grande while on Saturday Night Live. Davidson gets a mention in the song along with her late ex Mac Miller, whose real name was Malcolm McCormick. "Thank you, next / Thank you, next / Thank you, next / I'm so f-in' grateful for my ex".

Listen to "thank u, next" below.

"I'm still a great song though", Davidson concludes, referencing Grande's song "Pete Davidson", from her last LP Sweetener.
