Starbucks Releases Its 2018 Holiday Cup Designs

"We listened to our customers", Roz Brewer, Starbucks' chief operating officer, told CNN Business.

Customers said they 'loved the tradition of Christmas, ' she added.

"We started this season by looking to the past", Kristy Cameron from the Starbucks Creative Studio said in a press release.

Previous year we got the brand's first-ever colour-in holiday cup, giving customers to opportunity to create one-of-a-kind designs, but for 2018 the coffee giant has gone totally classic with retro-graphic patterns. For example, the "Stargyle" cup incorporates the stars seen in the Starbucks Siren's crown, while the "Stripes" cup features a design mimicking the seam on a back of Starbucks coffee.

Now that Halloween has passed, we're barreling toward that special time of year: the holidays.

This year, the designs are appropriately festive, although the color choices are more evocative of Christmas than the other season's celebrations.

This year, the company is strictly sticking with Christmas.

So how do you get the free cup?

Starbucks is also bringing back its famous (and occasionally controversial) holiday cups, and also introducing a new twist for 2018.

New sweet treats are also on available, including Chocolate Swirl Brioche, a Pistachio Honey Croissant, and a Sugarplum Cheese Danish.
