Alec Baldwin arrested after argument over parking spot

Alec Baldwin has been arrested in New York City. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the actor will be charged with assault. Police said that the charges - and the question of bail - were up to the District Attorney to decide.

Alec Baldwin has been arrested following a dispute over a parking spot near his New York City home.

Officials say the men were arguing and pushing each other before the 60-year-old Baldwin turned violent. He is at the 6th precinct. They arrested Baldwin and brought him to the station.

Actor Alec Baldwin was arrested Friday for assault related to an issue over a parking spot in NY, police report.

Baldwin, 60, was arguing with a man in his 40s over a parking spot when the incident occurred, KTLA sister station WPIX in NY reported.

The "Hunt for Red October" star was trying to park in a spot when his alleged victim jumped into the spot at about 1:30 p.m., sources with knowledge of the case said.

On Friday, a man called 911 to report that Baldwin had punched him in the face.

Police took Baldwin in for questioning. In 2014, he was taken into police custody for disorderly conduct after allegedly riding his bike the wrong way down 5th Avenue.

This isn't Baldwin's first brush with the law. Most recently he has made headlines for his depiction of President Donald Trump on "SNL".

After learning about Baldwin's arrest Friday, Trump reportedly told journalists, "I wish him luck".
