About 1 in 8 US women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. One in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer over the course of their lifetime and it is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women. Dangerous Boobies, her hilarious and honest memoir about breast cancer, body image, addiction, and mental health, chronicles Brodnick's diagnosis and the journey towards body positivity that unexpectedly followed. The mother, Marty Rowe, in her late 80s, was diagnosed with lymphoma in July 2016 and was able to obtain a medical marijuana card in addition to receiving aggressive chemotherapy treatments. Females who come with a family history of breast, pancreatic, melanoma or ovarian cancer have an increased possibility.

Diane Simpson is a two-time breast cancer survivor. That being said, most women are unaware of the fact that they might have breast cancer, which ultimately delays and leads the cancer to spread further.

A local 4-H club is using a unique event to raise awareness about breast cancer.

It is important to note that not all care plans are alike, nor are all breast cancers alike.

Medard says that her husband's journey began in 1999 when doctors discovered discharge stains on several of Anthony Medard's undershirts. "By getting these injections, more women became pregnant without negatively affecting their health or their chances of surviving their cancer". Furthermore, majority cases in India are diagnosed in Stage 2 or Stage 3 of breast cancer - indicating the lack of awareness and preventive diagnosis. Five years after treatment, 88 percent of women who took goserelin were alive and disease-free compared with 79 percent of women who got standard chemo. "I knew men could get breast cancer but we often go to the "bump or lump" mentality; this was a great reminder that cancer can manifest itself in many ways".

According to World Health Organisation (WHO), in 2018, it is estimated that 627,000 women died from breast cancer that is approximately 15% of all cancer deaths among women.

As per experts, Early Breast Cancer (EBC) constitutes only 30% of the breast cancer cases in India compared to 60 to 70% of cases in the developed world.

More than RM60,000 was raised through sales of a total of 25 golf flights as well as donations in aid of Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA), National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) and Persatuan Kanser Network (KanWork). This can be used as a cheap, effective screening test to identify early stage breast cancer with just a blood sample. Survivors and their family and friends reunited beneath a survivors booth while others enjoyed activities, such as Zumba or listening to survivors' stories, before the start of the walk.
